Seasonal Healing is one of the best ways to remind ourselves that it is time to evaluate our health. Our moods and bodies change as the seasons change. Past cultures have learned how to harmonize their bodies with the world around them. By altering their lifestyle with the change in the seasons, they were able to live longer, healthier lives.
We will learn how vinyasa is an expression of the esssence of the four elements Earth & Water (Winter), Air (Spring/Autumn), and Fire (Summer). This journey will be enriched with visualizations for each of the four elements and the Summer season. The workshop will finish with a group meditation in preparation for the latter half of the year as we transition into the dakshinayana season and set powerful intentions.
Practiced for centuries in ayurvedic and Chinese medicine systems and other cultures, detoxification is about stimulating, cleansing, and nourishing the body from the inside out. We will explore:
- Meditations for releasing stagnant mental patterns
- Journaling reflections
- Sun salutations and other effective poses—unique movement combinations that stimulate the circulatory and lymphatic systems and help clear out toxins
- Practical lifestyle suggestions to help cultivate dietary awareness, proper exercise, spiritual renewal, and more (handout)
